Couple Therapy

A Place to Understand What Is Happening Between You

Strengthening Connections

Navigating Couple Therapy Together

Relationships can become painful in ways that are difficult to explain. The same argument may keep returning. One person may pursue while the other withdraws. Trust may have been hurt, affection may feel distant, or both of you may be unsure about what comes next.

At Enso Wellness, couples and relationship therapy offers a structured space to understand these patterns, tend to emotional hurt and decide how you want to move forward. You may come to repair the relationship, prepare for marriage, make a difficult decision, separate with greater care or learn to co-parent after the relationship has ended.

Our work is shaped by the realities of relationships in India and respects diverse identities, family structures and ways of building a life together.

The when

For Relationships at Every Stage

Relationship therapy is for two people who want help understanding or navigating their relationship, whatever stage they are in.

Partners Facing Relationship Difficulties

For recurring conflict, emotional distance, resentment, trust concerns, changes in intimacy or the feeling that conversations no longer lead anywhere.

Couples Preparing for Marriage

For partners in an arranged or love marriage who want to discuss expectations, values, family roles, finances, intimacy, children and ways of handling disagreement before marriage.

Unmarried and Committed Partners

For dating, live-in or long-term partners who want support with commitment, boundaries, future plans or the pressures surrounding their relationship.

Couples Deciding What Comes Next

For partners who feel uncertain about staying together and need a thoughtful space to understand their options without being pushed towards reconciliation or separation.

Partners During or After Separation

For people who want to communicate with greater care, make practical decisions or reduce unnecessary conflict while the relationship changes.

Separated or Divorced Co-parents

For parents who are no longer a couple but need a workable parenting relationship centred on their child’s needs.

The Relationship Does Not Exist in Isolation

In India, a couple’s life is often connected with parents, in-laws, children, community expectations and practical responsibilities. Advice that focuses only on two individuals can miss the world around them.

Therapy at Enso can make room for questions such as how much involvement families should have, where loyalty and boundaries sit, how household and caregiving work is shared, and what financial independence or dependence means for each partner. We can also explore the expectations attached to gender, marriage, fertility, parenting, religion, caste, sexuality and social reputation.

The therapist will not assume that closeness to family is unhealthy or that independence has the same meaning for everyone. The work is to understand what each person values, where the pressure lies and what choices are realistically available.

the Why

Concerns We Can Explore

Every relationship has its own history. Couples often seek support when one or more of these concerns begin to affect daily life:

  • Communication that quickly turns into criticism, defensiveness, silence or escalation
  • Repeated arguments that never feel resolved
  • Emotional disconnection, loneliness or loss of affection
  • A breach of trust, secrecy or infidelity
  • Different needs around sex, affection or emotional closeness
  • Difficulty expressing needs, setting boundaries or saying no
  • Jealousy, insecurity or anxiety about the relationship
  • Differences around money, careers, household work or caregiving
  • Decisions about marriage, children, relocation or living arrangements
  • Conflict involving parents, in-laws or the extended family
  • Adjustment to pregnancy, parenthood, infertility, illness or loss
  • Differences in religion, caste, class, language, culture or family expectations
  • Stress related to gender, sexuality, identity or acceptance
  • Separation, divorce and the practical realities of co-parenting

You do not have to wait until things feel overwhelming. Therapy can also be a space to understand each other better, strengthen your relationship and navigate important transitions together.

The How

How will Therapy help us?

Premarital Work

Premarital sessions create space for conversations that families or couples sometimes postpone. These may include expectations of marriage, relationships with both families, money, careers, household roles, sex and affection, children, faith, social life, privacy and ways of handling conflict. The purpose is not to test whether you are compatible. It is to help you enter marriage with greater honesty and shared understanding.

Repairing the Relationship

When both partners want to continue, therapy may focus on emotional repair, rebuilding trust, understanding recurring patterns and creating more dependable ways of relating. Progress depends on what happens between sessions as well as what is understood inside them.

Discernment and Decision-Making

Sometimes one person wants to repair the relationship while the other feels uncertain. Therapy can offer a time-limited space to understand what has brought you here, what each option may involve and what information you need before making a decision. The therapist does not make the decision for you.

Separation and Co-Parenting

Ending a partnership does not always end the need to communicate. Sessions can help separated partners make clearer agreements, reduce avoidable conflict and build a co-parenting relationship that does not place children in the middle. Couples therapy does not replace legal advice, mediation or child-protection services when those are needed.

Inclusive and Affirming Care

Your Relationship Deserves to Be Understood on Its Own Terms

Enso Wellness welcomes married and unmarried partners, couples in arranged and love marriages, people in live-in or long-distance relationships, and couples whose lives do not follow a conventional path.

We aim to offer LGBTQIA+ affirming care. Therapy should not treat a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity or relationship structure as something to correct. When requesting a therapist, you are welcome to ask about their experience with the concerns and identities that matter to you.

We also recognise that culture, religion, caste, class, disability and family acceptance can shape the choices available to a couple. These realities can be discussed without assuming that one way of living is right for everyone.

Your therapist will help you understand why a particular approach may be useful. The process is collaborative, and it can evolve as your needs change.
